The general New Year holidays for Russia is a relatively new tradition. Back in the nineties, holidays were only on January 1 and 2, then we began to rest until January 5, and due to the postponement of weekends - until Christmas, while the dates of the end of the New Year's binge changed every year. At the end of 2012, the duration of the winter holidays was fixed by law.

Instructions

Step 1

New Year's holidays in 2014 will last only eight days: days off will be from 1 to 8 January (inclusive). We rested in the same mode in January 2013. But there is one significant difference: if last year December 30 and 31 were "added" to the New Year holidays, then this time there are no additional days off before the holiday. The last two days of the outgoing year fall on Monday and Tuesday, and these days on the production calendar appear as workers.

Step 2

There are two days off during the New Year holidays (Saturday 4 January and Sunday 5 January), which by law must be "compensated" by additional days off at other times. In 2014, it was decided to postpone the weekend to May 2 (Friday) and November 3 (Monday). Thus, a mini-vacation timed to coincide with the first May holidays will last in Russia from May 1 to May 4. And the same amount of time will be allotted in November for the celebration of the Day of National Unity.

Step 3

The schedule for the postponement of holidays for 2014 has already been approved by the State Commission for the Regulation of Social and Labor Relations and signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, and there should be no changes in it.
