After the end of Lent, when the bright holiday of Easter comes, one would like to put delicious and unusual dishes on the table in order to create a special mood. Cook them according to old recipes that were used by our great-great-grandmothers.
Delicious and original - definitely atypical - dishes for celebrating Easter 2019 can be a special cake and an Easter ball. How do you prepare them?
Russian Easter cake: recipe, cooking method
For cooking you will need:
- 300 grams of flour;
- 60 grams of powdered sugar;
- 2 yolks;
- 80 grams of butter (melted);
- 50 grams of steamed raisins;
- 80 grams of milk;
- salt;
- yeast;
- additional yolk for greasing the cake.
Make a dough from warmed milk (80 grams), yeast (25 grams), powdered sugar (10 grams), flour (50 grams). Dissolve the yeast completely in milk, add the rest of the ingredients and mix to get a mass in consistency like thick sour cream. Leave the dough for an hour in a warm place.
Mash the yolks thoroughly with sugar, add a pinch of salt, slightly warmed flour, warm butter (previously melted). Then add the dough and the remaining milk into the mixture. Knead the stiff dough until it “squeaks” at hand. At the very end, add the raisins and, if desired, some chopped almonds.
Now you need to leave the dough for an hour and a half, periodically crushing it.
When the dough has come, place it on a table or floured wood board and gently shape into a pie. Transfer it to a baking sheet and let stand for another 25 minutes. Then make cuts on the cake, brush with yolk and place in a heated oven (175-180 degrees).
The cake is baked for Easter 2019 for about 40-60 minutes. Don't forget to keep an eye on him!
Easter lump (cheese): recipe for Easter
You will need the following ingredients:
- milk (800 ml);
- eggs (12 pieces);
- allspice and black pepper (ground);
- salt.
How to cook? Stir eggs in milk (like an omelet), add pepper and salt. Then place the mixture on the stove and gradually bring to a boil, stirring constantly (the eggs should curl in the milk). Remove the mixture from heat, strain well through cheesecloth and tie it up.
Next, you need to hang cheesecloth over a bowl so that the liquid is completely glass. You can leave it for a day.
Cut the finished Easter cheese into small pieces and serve with bread and horseradish to the guests.
