Shrovetide week has come, and many Orthodox Christians are waiting for Lent. Each year the date of the beginning and end of the fast is different, but always at the end of the fast there comes a great holiday - Easter.

Before the celebration of Easter, there is a long fast, and preceded by a Pancake. The last day of Shrovetide week is Forgiveness Sunday. It is on this day that they ask for forgiveness from each other, forgiving, people are freed from past grievances.
