A graduation photo album is a standard attribute of school life. As a rule, it is drawn up in a standard way, referring to the same specialist with whom the school has been cooperating for a long time. If you don't want your childhood and adolescent memories to be kept under a typical cover, make a DIY photo album.

It is necessary

  • - cardboard;
  • - ruler;
  • - pencil;
  • - scissors / stationery knife;
  • - furniture stapler;
  • - glue;
  • - corners for photos;
  • - a set for scrapbooking;
  • - paper;
  • - Printer.

Instructions

Step 1

Find cardboard for your scrapbook. Pages can be made from a fairly thin color, A4 format. For the cover, buy binding cardboard that is about 2.5 times the length of the pages. Choose the color of the material based on your preferences. The only recommendation is that the pages should be light pastel shades (after all, this is only a background for the photo), and the cover can be made bright.

Step 2

Fold A4 sheets in a pile. Expand them horizontally, align. Step 1 cm from the left edge and draw a line parallel to the short side of the page. Use a furniture stapler to stitch the stack at this level with two staples. Place a wooden board under the cardboard in advance so as not to spoil the work surface.

Step 3

Cut out the cover from the binding cardboard. Draw a rectangle on it. To calculate the size of the long side, multiply the page length by 2, add 1 cm, and add the spine thickness to the value. The short side of the rectangle should be 1 cm larger than the corresponding page parameter.

Step 4

Lay the cover horizontally (i.e. short sides are on the sides, long sides are at the top and bottom). Divide it in half with the vertical axis. To the right and left of the axis, set aside half the width of the spine, draw lines. Set aside another 1.5 cm from each of the lines and also mark with segments. Erase the central axis. Use a pencil or knitting needle to push through the remaining lines on the seamy side of the cover. These grooves are needed so that the album does not wrinkle when opened.

Step 5

Lubricate the area of the cover between the outer grooves with glue and slide the cover over the album. The edges of the cover should protrude 5 mm from the top, bottom and right of the pages. Smooth out the cardboard, clamp with clamps, or leave under a press from books for 3-5 hours.

Step 6

Buy a scrapbooking kit. Choose paper with motifs associated with your school. Cut out the pictures and paste them onto the cover. Before fixing the elements, lay them out without glue to make sure the composition is successful.

Step 7

Find calligraphic font samples online. Choose the one you like and make up the phrase "school (or graduation) album" from the letters. Print the title on paper, transfer through carbon paper to the album cover and paint with acrylics.

Step 8

Stick photo corners on the pages of your photo album. Place one photo of your classmate on 1 page, leave free space to the right of him, where a person can write memories or wishes.

Step 9

Place a paper pocket on the back of the cover. Ask classmates and teachers to write a note to you in the future (30-year-old, 40-year-old, etc.). Fold your notes without reading in this pocket and do not look into it until the appointed time.
