Montenegro is a cozy country where you can have an inexpensive vacation and get an unforgettable experience. Can clean beaches, medieval architecture, holy landmarks, national parks and reserves be ignored?
Ostrog monastery
Ostrog Monastery is one of the main attractions that you need to see while in Montenegro. Because of the activities of Vasily Ostrozhsky, the monastery featured all the faithful of the denomination. From early childhood, Vasily served God, led a righteous life until the end of his days and helped other people. The monastery is unique not only for the miracles that happened on its territory, but also for its location - it seems to have grown into a rock.
Skadar lake
If you love nature, then you will like the national park, on the territory of which the largest lake-reserve is located. The reserve is characterized by good flora and fauna - more than 30 species of rare fish and 270 species of birds live there. On the islands near Lake Skadar, there are Orthodox monasteries and churches, behind which stunning landscapes open.
Saint Stephen
The visiting card of Montenegro is the island-hotel Sveti Stefan, which is depicted on most holiday cards and souvenirs. In 1957, the island was transformed into a hotel, and now houses ultra-high-class hotels and villas.
Mount Lovcen
The main symbol of Montenegro is Mount Lovcen - the highest point of the mountain range and a national park. On the mountain, you can see unique architectural landmarks and picturesque villages. Also on the mountain is a museum, a library and a mausoleum in honor of Petar Njegos, who was one of the greatest philosophers and statesmen of Montenegro.
Djurdzhevich bridge
Montenegro is famous for having the highest road bridge in Europe. Even before the Second World War, engineer Lazar Yaukovich was engaged in the development of a bridge, the height of which reaches 160 meters. The bridge is located above the canyon of the Tara River and has an aesthetic appearance, for which it is often called "openwork". Near the entrance to the bridge there is a monument to Yaukovich.
Cetinje
Cetinje is considered to be the historical capital of Montenegro. When Njegos ruled the state, there are many amazing buildings in the central part of Cetinje: churches, residences, educational institutions. Cetinje can also be called the cultural capital, as it ranks first in the country in terms of the number of museums.
Tara river canyon
Montenegro has the second deepest in the world and the deepest in Europe canyon, which was included in the UNESCO list. The protected canyon of the Tara River is located in the northern part of Montenegro and has unusual caves that have not yet been fully explored by archaeologists. On the territory of the reserve, you can see the plant diversity and vast fauna.
