Making simple toys with your own hands develops creative thinking in children, and also promotes the development of fine motor skills. Such an activity is especially important on the eve of the New Year holidays, when you can make small Christmas trees, Christmas decorations, garlands, postcards and souvenirs with your own hands.
Simple Christmas tree in the form of a cone
Necessary materials:

- various decorative materials for decorating the Christmas tree.
Manufacturing:
To create such a Christmas tree, you need to make a cone from thick green cardboard. To do this, cut out a circle from cardboard (the radius of the circle will be equal to the height of the cone), divide it into 4 equal parts, drawing with a pencil two perpendicular lines intersecting in the center of the circle. After that, cut out 1/4 part and fold the circle into a cone, fastening the edges with PVA glue. If desired, the cardboard cone can be wrapped in bright wrapping paper - this will give the product an interesting design. We decorate the resulting blank with various decorative elements: glue buttons, bugles, beads or various figures cut out of shiny paper. We decorate the top of the Christmas tree with a homemade star, snowflake or pompom.
Garland "Fir-trees"
Necessary materials:

Manufacturing:
On the Internet, we find a pattern in the form of a Christmas tree, print it and transfer it to cardboard. Using the resulting template, we cut out the links for the garland from multi-colored paper with a bright print. It is better to use paper with different patterns, but matching with each other in color. When all the details for the Christmas garland are ready, make a hole in the top of each Christmas tree with a hole punch. By the way, the waste from the hole punch can then be used as bright confitti at the New Year's party in kindergarten or school. We put the Christmas trees on a long rope, securing each link with a loop. The distance between the links of the garland must be the same. This Christmas garland will be the perfect decoration for your festive interior.
Christmas wreath on the door
Necessary materials:

Manufacturing:
First, we will make the basis for the future wreath. To do this, put a large plate on a sheet of thick cardboard and circle it in a circle. If desired, children can be given a ready-made circle template. Then, in the center of the resulting circle, we place a plate of a smaller diameter and also circle it along the contour. As a result, we get a ring that needs to be cut with scissors.
After making the base, let's start creating branches for the Christmas wreath. We put the child's palm on a sheet of thick cardboard and outline its silhouette, after which we cut out the drawing along the contour. Using this stencil, we cut out branches for a wreath from green paper (the number of branches will depend on the size of the wreath). It is better to use paper with different shades of green - this will give the craft a voluminous and natural look.
We glue the branches cut from paper to the base with an overlap, moving in one direction (clockwise or counterclockwise). The Christmas wreath is ready, it remains only to decorate it with Christmas balls cut out of red paper and a bow made of decorative ribbon.
Christmas toys made of buttons

First you need to decide on the shape of the Christmas tree toy: it can be a Christmas tree, a snowman, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, a bell or any other symbol of the New Year. Based on the shape of the future decoration, we select buttons in the appropriate color scheme. For convenience, it is better to lay the buttons on the work surface and sort them by size. We string the buttons on a thin wire or thread, having previously secured them from below so that they do not fly apart. We attach a ribbon to the finished button craft and decorate the New Year tree with it. If you have a large number of buttons, you can create a whole garland. Making button crafts for the New Year is not only great fun for the whole family, but also an excellent exercise for the development of fine motor skills in a child.
Christmas deer made from wine corks
Necessary materials:
- wine bottle corks of different sizes;

- black felt-tip pen or marker;

Making Santa Claus's reindeer from wine corks is a snap. To do this, take a large oblong cork, which will be the basis of the craft, and glue four small corks to it - the legs of a deer. An animal's neck can be made from a regular wooden toothpick. Then we take another small cylindrical wine cork and attach it in place of the head. We twist the branchy horns from the wire and insert them into the crown of the deer. It is better to use decorative fluffy wire - this will give the deer a more beautiful and natural look. The ears of the animal can be cut out of cardboard, a small red bead can be glued to the place of the nose, and the eyes can be drawn with a black marker or felt-tip pen. We tie a thin red decorative ribbon to the antlers of the Christmas deer and hang the finished decoration on the Christmas tree.
