Already at the end of November, city streets begin to dress up for the New Year - festive illumination, colorful posters and joyfully smiling Santa Claus and Snegurochka appear. You too can join the New Year campaign by decorating your front door.
A snowman made from scrap materials will not scare away guests
Wreaths made of spruce branches with shiny balls, which traditionally decorate doors for the New Year, no longer surprise anyone. Creating figures of Santa Claus and Snow Maiden is a difficult task, and the result is not always excellent. It is much easier to make a Snowman as a decoration for the front door for the New Year.
The toy consists of three balls or circles and a decorative trim. Key parts can be made from sparkling rain, fluffy white yarn or cotton wool, foam slabs, or foam balls. You need to cut out three circles of different sizes from cardboard and glue the selected material for the Snowman on them.
You can give the decoration an elegant look with the help of old children's clothes. Tie a bright scarf around the figure's neck, put a hat on the head, and mittens on the handles.
Take a real carrot and cut it lengthwise, this part is the Snowman's nose. Stick it with double-sided tape to the face of the toy. Make the eyes out of buttons or large beads.
So that the Snowman can be used as a New Year's decoration more than once, glue all the details on thick thick cardboard. Make a loop at the top of a lace or ribbon for which you will hang the toy on the door.
Traditional new year wreath
Use flexible artificial branches to create a festive bright wreath to decorate your front door, as real spruce legs quickly crumble. If the door is painted green, take branches with silver needles so that the decoration does not get lost against the dark background. Form a wreath of fluffy twigs and secure it with thin wire.
It is better to take shatterproof toys for decoration. Their colors can be very different, see which shades are best combined with the color of the door and walls. Attach the toys with wire, hide the tails on the back of the wreath.
Fragrant decorations for the inside of the door
New Year's smells are tangerines, fresh pine needles and baked goods. To envelop you and your loved ones immediately upon arrival home, hang a special wreath on the door.
The decoration can be assembled in a wreath of thin spruce twigs, small tangerines, cinnamon sticks tied with bright satin ribbons. All this can be beautifully put in a small wicker basket and hung from the inside of the door on a hook. All the ingredients of the decoration can be renewed every day so that the fragrances do not weaken.
Also, for a fragrant wreath, you can use sticks soaked in natural essential oils of coniferous trees, tangerine and spices. Add a drop of oil from a pipette every day to enhance the smell.
