So there is very little time left until the most anticipated holiday - the New Year. The bustle will soon begin on the streets: buying souvenirs, decorating a house, preparing a festive menu. It is to the choice of delicious and unique delights for the New Year's table that many housewives are especially careful.
The upcoming year on the Eastern Chinese calendar is the Year of the Dog. How to appease her? What should be put on the table for a successful year? According to popular beliefs, the most important thing is that the festive dinner is hearty and generous. It is recommended to put on the table a lot of meat dishes, among which beef and lamb must be included.
But do not forget about salads, they go side by side with meat dishes, like gin and tonic. And the new hostess of the year will praise you not only for the rich table, but also for the originality of the dishes. By the way, here are a couple of ideas with unusual recipes.
Mackerel "Bright firecracker"
- mackerel carcass - 1 pc.;
- carrots - 1 pc.;
- onion - 1 pc.;
- ratunda pepper (red) - 1 pc.;
- egg - 2 pcs.;
- agar agar - 1, 5 tbsp. l.;
- coriander (ground) - 0.5 tsp;
- thyme - 0.5 tsp;
- nutmeg (ground) - to taste;
- salt to taste.
- Defrost the fish first.
- Chop the carrots on a coarse grater and dice the onions. Now save them together.
- Bake the pepper using vegetable oil in an oven preheated to 200 degrees (bake for 20 minutes). After it has cooled, peel it and cut it into strips.
- Cut the boiled eggs into slices.
- Cut the mackerel carcass along the belly and gut it. You also need to remove the head, cut off the fins, tail, and strip the fish of bones. Rub the mackerel fillets liberally with spices and salt. Have gelatin on hand - sprinkle it on the fish.
- So, put the previous cooked ingredients on the fillet in this way: first there are sautéed onions with carrots, then strips of pepper and circles of boiled egg.
- Sandwich all this beauty and wrap with several layers of cling film. Dip this package in boiling water and cook for half an hour.
- After cooking, put the fish in the refrigerator (of course, after it has cooled down a little), press down with something and leave for two hours. Everything, you can carry mackerel to the table.
New Year's extravaganza salad
- beef pulp - 200 g;
- pomegranate - 1 pc.;
- pickled cucumber - 2 pcs.;
- beets - 1 pc.;
- mayonnaise - 2 tbsp. l.;
- cream (33%) - 2 tbsp. l.;
- soy sauce - 1 tbsp l.;
- parsley leaves - for decoration.
- Boil the beef flesh and either cut it into strips or chop it hard. Boil the beets until tender, and grind on a grater.
- Grate pickles.
- Carefully remove the pomegranate seeds from the fruit.
- Set aside the prepared ingredients and start preparing the dressing: combine mayonnaise, cream and soy sauce in a small but deep container or in a gravy boat. Do not take it far away, because now it will be useful to you.
- Start spreading the salad in layers, smearing each of them with the prepared sauce: first there is boiled beef, then cucumber, and on top - beets. After spreading the sauce over the last layer of lettuce, garnish with pomegranate seeds and parsley leaves. New Year's salad is ready and waiting for its finest hour!
