Winter fun is the greatest pleasure the colder months bring us. As soon as the snow falls, those who like to ride downhill rush to all the surrounding hills and hills, in order to give themselves up to a fun and useful activity with a squeal and laughter, and, moreover, a variety of devices are used for skiing.
Hundreds of years ago, roller coasters were just as popular as they are today. At first, people moved down the snow-covered hills on armfuls of hay or cow cakes. Over time, a more advanced device was invented. Today people go sledging or skiing down the hill. However, there are many newfangled gadgets that can diversify this winter entertainment and add even more excitement and adrenaline to it.
Skeleton, or toboggan
This is not to say that it was recently invented. For hundreds of years, toboggans were actively used by Canadian Indians to transport people and goods. In the United States, they turned out to be very popular, and as early as the 19th century, Americans began to hold competitions in downhill tobogganing.
The modern toboggan is an ordinary board with the ends bent upwards, which is used for descending from the mountain. On the toboggan they ride while sitting, and on the skeleton - lying on their stomach. In our country, such riding devices appeared only a couple of decades ago and are not yet very popular, since riding on them carries the risk of injury.
Tubing, or "cheesecake"
These are round inflatable rubber sleds, which, when descending from a hill, twist in different directions. The prototype of tubing during the Soviet era was riding on inflatable car tires, which was very popular with desperate boys. The unpredictable behavior of "cheesecakes" gives fans of extreme skiing a storm of emotions, but many note that it is not easy to go down the slide using such devices, and they can be stopped only at the very end of the slide or by turning them over, so young children are not put in them.
Snow scooter and scooter scooter
These devices practically do not differ from their usual counterparts, only skis are attached to them instead of wheels. The author of this original invention is the Frenchman Franck Petou, who first thought of connecting skis and a bicycle. In 2004, the idea was developed and refined by skier Andrew Hubert von Stofer, who even received 2 prestigious awards for it at a British show.

For many years, she simply has no equal in popularity. Today, round, oval, square, triangular or even two-seater ice floes can be found on every slide. For ease of use, some ice floes are equipped with belts or small bumpers. Due to their compact size and lightness, they are often taken on hikes and travels, and the simplicity of riding on the ice allows people of all ages and any physical shape to indulge in this activity.
