In order not to forget about the birthdays of your friends, add memorable dates to the list of your mobile phone. When a certain day comes at the time you specified, your cell phone will remind you of the event. But this method has drawbacks, imagine that you have purchased a new phone, then you will have to form a new list on another device.

The best option is to use the Google Calendar service. It is there that you can create not one, but several calendars in order to distinguish really important things from those of lesser importance. To do this, in the Google Calendar settings, create a new calendar called "Holidays" or "Birthdays".

Add an event to the calendar: in the “title” - the name of the birthday person, in the “duration of the event” - the whole day, in the “date of the event” - the birthday.

Set the frequency of recurrence of events - 1 year.

Specify how and when you would like to receive notifications about the marked events. If you want to congratulate the birthday person by phone or via SMS, set an SMS reminder, which will come 5 minutes before the indicated event. If you want to personally congratulate a friend by preparing a birthday present, then indicate a reminder of the holiday in advance (from 1 day to a week before the name day).

In the calendar settings, you can also specify general notification rules. For example, on the day you have designated, exactly at 9:00 am, an SMS with the following content will be sent to your mobile phone: "Surname First name December 12, 2009 (birthdays)".

You can create a similar calendar in Yandex. The only difference from Google will be that in Yandex it is impossible to configure the time for receiving SMS and the year of birth of the birthday person.
