Step 1

The official version of the origin of this wonderful holiday is as follows: the beginning of the holiday was laid back in the 16th century during the transition from Victorian to Gregorian chronology. Then, in France, a decree was issued on the postponement of the New Year holiday from March 25 to the date already familiar to us: January 1. And over those who continued to celebrate the New Year on April 1 (the last day of the week of New Year's holidays), they made fun of them and gave them empty or funny gifts.

Step 2

The first massive April Fools' rally in our country took place in 1703 in Moscow. The heralds on all the major streets urged people to attend an unheard-of performance. However, the people who had gathered on the square on the specified day (April 1) and at one o'clock saw only a poster with the inscription: "April 1 - do not trust anyone", hung on the stage.

Step 3

The tradition of celebrating April 1 became widespread in the 16th century in the American colonies. People made fun of their comrades harmlessly, giving ridiculous assignments like "bring mosquito fat / sweet vinegar / something like that."

Step 4

In England the date of April 1 is called "All Fools Day". Usually they joke from early morning until noon, accompanying the rally with kind shouts of "April fool!" (English April's Fool!).

Step 5

The most widely publicized rally in England took place in 1860 in London. The unsuspecting British were invited to attend the "annual white tiger washing ceremony" at the Tower at the specified time. A lot of people fell for this rally. There was no ceremony, of course.

Step 6

An interesting fact is that April 1 in none of the countries became an official holiday.

Step 7

When playing pranks on your friends and making fun of them on April 1, remember that no one likes bad jokes. It's one thing to cheer or play a prank, and quite another to scare him into an attack or make him look funny or ridiculous. Joke and act out on this day - this is the perfect way to celebrate April 1st. And let your jokes be kind and funny.
