Currently, no one holds weddings the way they did 40-50 years ago, but some of the rituals have remained unchanged or have been revived from oblivion. One of the brightest parts of the wedding celebration is the meeting of the bride and groom after they have officially signed. In some places, it is still not customary for the parents of the newlyweds to be present at the painting. But even if they go there, after the official ceremony they meet young people at home or in a restaurant.

Instructions

Step 1

If, after the registry office, the newlyweds go to the groom's house, then there they, as usual, are met by his parents. Prepare an embroidered towel in advance - a large kitchen towel with an ornament - and a wedding loaf. A special recess is made in the center of the loaf, into which a small salt shaker is inserted. Also prepare an icon if you have a believing family. Usually the groom's mother holds a towel with a loaf, and his father holds an icon (although it happens the other way around).

Step 2

Say congratulatory words and invite the newlyweds to bite off the largest piece from the loaf without using your hands. It is believed that the one whose piece is larger will dominate the family. But in some cases, the young simply break off a piece from the loaf, salt it and feed each other. The meaning is clear: together they have to eat a pound of salt.

Step 3

Leadership in the future family can be "tested" in this way. Divide the loaf in half and give these halves to the bride and groom. They should treat them to guests as quickly as possible. Whoever is the first to cope with this task will be the main one in the family. They say that earlier, when the bride appeared at the groom's house, the mother-in-law handed her an apple and asked to throw it across the house. If the young man succeeded in this, it was believed that the future family would live well and richly. Now this is possible only if the house is not multi-storey.

Step 4

Another tradition is associated with such a talisman of family happiness as a castle. Before the newlyweds enter the house, an open lock is placed under the threshold or at their feet. And as soon as they enter their house, then immediately this lock is locked with a key and thrown away so that no one can find it. It is believed that in this case, the marriage will be strong and indestructible.

Step 5

The groom usually brings his bride into the house in his arms, if, of course, he has enough strength for this. This is an ancient action, and once it was carried out as a prophylaxis against the evil eye. Now no one can explain this, but the tradition has survived.

Step 6

And finally, after the meeting of the newlyweds, invite guests to your house and treat them. Today, as a rule, the main banquet is held in a specially ordered room - a cafe or restaurant. Therefore, in the groom's house, if they go there after the wedding ceremony, only a light buffet can be prepared.

Step 7

Sometimes the young after the registry office go straight to the restaurant. In this case, the main rituals are held at its entrance. Agree on who will greet the bride and groom. This can be the groom's mom and dad (after all, a bride is accepted into their family circle) or all parents and guests who wish. After appropriate solemn words, as a rule, the newlyweds are sprinkled with grain, coins and sweets. The essence of this rite is to make the house of the new family rich and to live sweetly in it.

Step 8

In addition to bread and salt, you can also bring glasses of champagne to the bride and groom, which they can drink or sip, and irrigate the guests with the rest of the contents. Empty glasses are thrown over the left shoulder. It is believed that they fight for good luck.

Step 9

Nowadays, it is not uncommon for newlyweds to meet with volleys from flare guns or firecrackers, shower them with flower petals and confetti, sprinkle the path under their feet with various large cereals. They also arrange test contests to determine what the future family will be like. But whatever the traditions, the main thing is that an atmosphere of joy and happiness reigns at the holiday.
