Giving money in this case is not always appropriate. This holiday is magical and the gift must match. When choosing, it is always worth starting from the interests of the gifted. After all, almost everyone has a hobby. For example, if a person paints, he can be presented with paints, pastels, pencils, a picture by numbers, good brushes. And if a person loves to read, then the latest bestseller will clearly delight him. In this case, the gift should naturally be a surprise. Almost no one likes gifts on duty and not always necessary: socks, cosmetic sets, tea, sweets, a scarf. It's too boring. The gift should express your feelings and desire to please someone.
The atmosphere in which the present is presented is also important. Become Santa Claus or Snow Maiden, come up with an interesting packaging. Even an ordinary souvenir can be presented in an unusual way.
And if with relatives everything is more or less clear, then with colleagues the story is a little different. It is important to observe the status and show all your imagination. A gift for your boss doesn't have to be formal, so you can chip in with other colleagues and buy, for example, a bottle of expensive champagne or a set of cigars (if you smoke). But for other colleagues, gifts may be "ordinary", but not trivial. For example, chocolate or a pillow in the shape of a New Year's symbol, a beautiful gingerbread, a glowing glass, a 3D pen, an alarm clock, a mini Christmas tree, a plant in a pot, fortune cookies, an unusual flash drive or computer mouse, a thermos, herbal toy, headphones, a speaker, beautiful Christmas toys, a jar of honey or a hammock for feet. All sorts of funny little things also have the right to be. The main thing is not to get carried away, a shabby, crumbling candle or a fridge magnet is unlikely to please anyone. And no joke gifts. A clown jumping out of a casket or a plate with the inscription “don't eat after six” will not be appreciated by everyone. Do not buy expensive gifts, this will put the gifted person in an awkward situation.
But there are also things that are considered bad form to give: knives, slippers, tie, towels, watches, mirrors, chains, underwear, perfume, dishes, pets, jewelry.
By the way, the gift does not always have to be material. Impressions are also very important. Loved ones can be taken to the Christmas market, to the theater, to the opera, to present a flight in a wind tunnel, a certificate to the spa or any other service, a subscription to yoga or dance lessons. Perhaps someone's long-standing wish will come true.
Consider the age of the person to whom you want to present the present. Usually children do not like to receive clothes and books as a gift, but toys with pleasure.
