New Year is just around the corner, and so I want to make the house beautiful in order to spend the holidays in an atmosphere of family comfort and carelessness. But how can this be done in a financial crisis, when funds are sometimes only enough for the most urgent things?

On the eve of the holiday, supermarkets are full of elements of New Year's decor. But, oddly enough, the abundance of beautiful things is not so important for decorating an apartment. On the contrary, an overabundance of garlands, tinsel and various decorations from all possible materials can create a fussy and slightly tasteless atmosphere in which it is very difficult for a person to relax and tune in to a festive mood.

Of much greater importance is the overall lighting and color scheme of your apartment, the harmonious and uniform arrangement of accessories. Decor elements can be the simplest and cheapest - the main thing is that they are in their "right" place.

For example, a pair of light garlands, plus bright Christmas balls hanging here and there on satin ribbons. Supplement this picture with candles, beautiful dim lighting - and the New Year's atmosphere will appear in your home instantly. If it is possible to change home textiles (curtains, sofa bedspreads, tablecloths) to a brighter one, then it will be great. It would be best to decorate the apartment in warm colors - shades of red, beige, yellow, ocher and orange.

You can make many different decorations with your own hands - homemade things always carry the warmth of the author's hands, creating an atmosphere of comfort in the house. If you have children, they will probably happily make a bunch of paper lace snowflakes to decorate the windows. With them, you can also make New Year's bouquets from fir branches, decorate them with small balls, tangerines and gingerbread cookies, make New Year's figures from textiles, cones and tinsel. You can even make a Christmas tree yourself. To do this, make a conical frame from the wire and wrap it with a dense layer of green tinsel, or evenly fasten short spruce branches.
