It is unpleasant when the New Year holidays are overshadowed by childhood injuries, whims, illnesses or excessive excitement. Shopping for gifts, cooking, and later eating too much can ruin the whole family's vacation. To avoid this, you need to plan all your joint affairs, as well as come up with such a menu so that hearty holidays pass easily and without overeating.
Preparation for the holiday
A small child needs to be told about the New Year in advance. Show him pictures with Christmas trees, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden. This is necessary so that later your kid is not afraid of the New Year's heroes on the street or in the store. Do not force the child to approach Santa Claus if he does not want to. The photo is not worth the stress of the toddler.
If your kids are still small, then choose an artificial Christmas tree. It is advisable to choose high-quality, safe spruce. Check that the needles are not prickly and that the tree stand is wide and sturdy. To prevent the tree from accidentally falling on the children, additionally secure it from above to the ceiling or from the edge to the wall. This is especially true for active children, because they can pull spruce branches onto themselves during games. A natural tree, of course, looks beautiful, and its smell is magnificent and healthy, but parasites, small bugs and worms can live on the branches.
Choose your Christmas tree toys from plastic, felt, clay or polymer materials. They are safe: they will not break when dropped on the floor, they will not crack with strong children's teeth and are inexpensive. Glass or porcelain toys can be used by hanging them higher than the child's height. But this is only possible if your child already understands that the tree should not be pulled and pushed. Explain to your child that it is not safe to touch the garland either. Try to remove the sockets as far as possible so that the child is not interested in them. While your kids are small, give up rain and tinsel. They are easy to swallow and can lead to a blockage in your intestines or difficulty breathing.
Party and children
Do not break the regime of children on holidays. The constant shopping and hustle and bustle will excite your child, and you cannot avoid the evening whims. Before going to bed at night, take some time to calm and put your baby to bed at the right time. To do this, leave all your affairs, get dressed and go for a walk. It's good if you can take a walk with the whole family. Walk along the quiet streets, go to the park. Avoid shops and squares. Half an hour is enough for the excitement to pass. After the walk, bathe your baby in a warm herbal bath. Putting him to bed, tell a fairy tale about Santa Claus: how he brings gifts to children at night; as in the morning the baby will definitely find his under the Christmas tree.
If your child sleeps well, then you should not worry about being woken up by the noise of firecrackers and music from the street. If, nevertheless, your baby woke up, then calm him down: pick him up and shake him, hug him. Your peace of mind will be transferred to the baby, and he will fall asleep again.
New Year treats
We always prepare a lot of different dishes for the New Year's table. Most of them are with harmful sauces, heavy on the stomach, or even from such products that the child has never tried. You should not treat your baby to a lot of new products. Prepare what he eats daily. Dream up with serving to make it look festive. Also, do not offer your child a lot of sweets and tangerines, which are abundant on the New Year's table. This can lead not only to stomach upset, but also to allergies. If you are planning guests, then make sure that they do not feed prohibited foods to your child. After all, the guests will leave, and you will have to solve the health problems.
The best option for celebrating the New Year with a child would be a double holiday. Organize a family dinner especially for children with gifts, games, delicious baby food and no alcohol. They will enjoy your company and after a walk and a bath, they will give you peace of mind at night.
