Easter is one of the main Christian holidays of special importance. On this day, believers praise the feat and self-sacrifice of the Son of God, who voluntarily accepted a martyr's death on the cross, taking upon himself human sins, and then with his miraculous resurrection gave people hope for the salvation of their souls. Therefore, the Easter holiday is especially bright and joyful.
Instructions
Step 1
Of course, there are certain rules (canons) for holding this holiday. They, among other things, relate to the songs that are supposed to be performed during Easter. On the evening of Forgiveness Sunday - the last day of Great Lent - believers come to churches and wait for the festive evangelism (bell ringing). Immediately after it is distributed, the priests with a cross, lamps and incense go around the church. Believers also join this procession. At the same time, it is supposed to sing a song with the following words: "Thy Resurrection, Christ the Savior, the Angels sing in heaven, and on earth make us praise with a pure heart."
Step 2
According to religious canons, priests and parishioners should stop at the locked western gate of the temple. Then one of the priests sings: "Christ is risen from the dead, trampling death on death and giving life to those in the grave." This song must be repeated three times by all present.
Step 3
During Easter Matins, songs are sung from the canon (that is, the obligatory list), which was compiled by St. John of Damascus in the 8th century. At the end of each song, it is repeatedly proclaimed: "Christ is risen from the dead!" Priests are supposed to bypass the church, addressing believers with the same appeal: "Christ is risen!" To which parishioners should respond: "Truly is risen!"
Step 4
But Easter songs are not at all limited to the canonical list, which is performed within the walls of churches. Many believers on this day sing worldly songs that glorify the Easter holiday, the Savior, and the Mother of God. In a broader sense, Easter songs are any songs of kind, instructive content that are sung on this sacred day. Moreover, it is not at all necessary that the main content of the song be devoted to a religious theme. They can say a lot: about love for parents, children, for their country and people, about friendship, about the joy that spring comes again and nature awakens, and only a few words mention that Easter is celebrated on this day. The main thing is that they awaken worthy, bright feelings in people.
