On July 25, 2012, a concert of the legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers took place in Kiev. The performance took place as part of a world tour in support of the new album called "I’m with You".
For the first time, Red Hot Chili Peppers delighted the residents of Ukraine. Until 2012, the team had never visited this country. The performance took place at the NSC Olimpiyskiy. The uniqueness of the show was also added by the fact that it was the first concert that took place after the reconstruction of the main arena. On July 26, a football match between FC Dynamo and Hoverla took place on the same site. But the concert that took place did not affect the quality of the field in any way, because the sod was carefully covered before the show. The lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in a "Pussy Riot" T-shirt. Although he did not make any speeches, it was clear to all the fans that he supported the Russian group, the girls from which were under arrest.
About forty thousand people came to watch the performance of the famous rockers, which is not at all surprising. After all, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have a huge number of fans. The opening act was performed by the little-known English indie rock band The Vaccines, and the compatriots of RHCP - Kasabian. The concert itself lasted about an hour and a half.
The musicians took the stage to the world famous song "Monarchy of Roses". During the concert, both the songs, long-loved by the fan, and new items from the album "I’m with You" were performed. The songs "Can't Stop", "By the Way" and "Can't Stop" were especially stormy. In a few intervals between the hits performed, the guitarists delighted the fans of the group with solo performances.
As the concert drew to a close, fans lit the Olympic with thousands of lighter lights and glowing mobile phone displays. But the famous Americans also surprised the audience - for an encore, the musicians came out in FC Dynamo T-shirts. At the same time, bassist Flea appeared on stage, standing on his hands. After such a colorful appearance, the group performed five more songs, after which they left the stage for good. Such a bright and unforgettable show was remembered not only by the fans who came to the concert, but even by those who watched the performance on record.
