Humanity seeks to introduce computer technology into all spheres of life to facilitate and simplify it. This became possible thanks to the Internet. It was this site that at one time gave rise to products, the existence and activity of which is possible only within it. The brightest representatives are blogs.
Every day there are more and more people who consider themselves bloggers. There are millions of pages on the Internet with content of various content: these are comments by ordinary users, master classes by professionals (sports, cooking, journalism, art, handicrafts, etc.), lectures by professional scientists and seminars by specialists in various fields. They attract a billion-dollar audience every day.
Blogging today is not only fashionable, but also rewarding. Especially if the person is a popular media person. This allows you to compete with the media, stay ahead of them, enticing the audience. Not to mention, blogging is a powerful advertising engine. Both the owner of the popular page and the advertiser make money on this.
history of the holiday
To begin with, you need to clarify that there are two different in their essence holidays. Don't confuse Blog Day and International Blogger Day. The second has been celebrated since 2004, is considered a day of solidarity among users of different countries and has nothing to do with the first.
Blog Day does not officially have the status of an international holiday, but it is still very popular in different parts of the world. Its original meaning was precisely in internationality, in the establishment and strengthening of friendly and professional contacts between bloggers from different countries. This allows not only to increase the number of virtual subscribers, readers and acquaintances, but also to expand horizons, discover something new and interesting, which is subsequently reflected in the content of the blog.
The logical basis for choosing the date of the holiday was an attempt to visualize the word blog in a numerical (digital) equivalent. In this case, the number 3108 is obtained, which, when translated to a calendar date, turns into August 31. It was this day that LiveJournal users announced as Blog Day. It happened in 2005. It is from this year that the holiday is annually celebrated by bloggers.
Residents of the blogosphere enthusiastically picked up the idea of a new holiday. And already in the first year of its existence, tens of thousands of pages with new and unusual content were created.
In 2007, in connection with the celebration of another date, a competition for the best blog Best of Blogs was announced. Bloggers from any country who speak one of the languages declared in the competition conditions could participate in it: Persian, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch, French, English, German, Russian, Chinese.
Celebrating Blog Day
The initiators of the holiday urge users to devote this day to acquaintance with bloggers from other countries, namely the content of their Internet pages. Choose the most interesting content from an area that is not basic or familiar in everyday work. Having studied the material, write 5 small reviews (preferably blogs of different people and different topics) and place them on your page, indicating links to the author's material. Bloggers, whose material served as inspiration, inform about the work done and congratulate you on your professional holiday.
In addition, it is necessary to post about the Blog Day itself, paying tribute to the emergence and existence of such an event.
