The medical profession is very often exploited in horror films. An extremely fertile topic! It is impossible to calculate how many thrillers were filmed, where the main character was a crazy doctor or the action took place on the territory of the clinic. Here is a selection of successful horror films about doctors and hospitals, filmed at different times, but which are impossible to watch without a shudder.

European horror movies are the scariest

There is no doubt that European thrillers are sometimes striking in their sophistication. Directors sometimes give out such masterpieces from which you cannot recover for a long time. And the depressing impression does not leave the viewer for several days. A striking example is the film "The Human Centipede" (2009) by the Dutch director Tom Sixx. The crazy doctor puts on his inhuman experiment, for which he kidnaps three young people. Some viewers could not even watch this film to the end, so some of the scenes in it are disgusting.

"Hypnosis" (2010), produced in Spain. The focus is on a psychiatric clinic where patients are treated with hypnosis. The young doctor Beatrice gradually begins to understand that the hospital where she works is fraught with many secrets and that soon she herself may become a victim. The film is somewhat scary, how much depressing, which distinguishes many European horror films.

Rescuer, dentist or pathologist?

Hollywood, too, with enviable consistency scares the audience with films about maniac doctors.

The Dentist (1996) directed by Brian Yuzna. When a successful dentist stops taking sedatives, his beautiful wife, whom he is constantly jealous of, becomes his victim. The film is especially recommended for all those who are afraid of dentists.

Reanimator (1985). As a result of the experiment carried out in the morgue, the revived dead, who are very aggressively disposed, break free. The film is low-budget, but is rightfully considered a classic and must-see for all fans of this genre.

Pathology (2008). Doctors-killers compete with each other, who is the best to kill a person. The film is quite scary in places, especially for those who are afraid of morgues and pathologists, considering them cynics and perverts.

Elena in a Box (1992). A film about the manic passion of a talented surgeon who is obsessed with the beautiful Elena. When his beloved gets hit by a car, at home, saving her life, he amputates both of her legs. There are a lot of erotic scenes in the film, but it's pretty creepy.

The Giggling Doctor (1992). As a child, the main character saw enough of his father doing inhuman operations. And he, remaining true to family traditions, leaving the psychiatric clinic, returns to his hometown and continues to experiment on people.

Bound to Death (1988). Directed by David Cronenberg. Two twin brothers work together as doctors. One is shy, the other is a master at seducing women. The movie star Claire, without knowing it, starts dating both brothers at once. How will events develop further? The film is very high quality, it is definitely worth watching.
